TDDoC Day 4 -- Slocum's Bowl-O-Drome Bar and Grill

Day 5 is the Robbinsville Pub Crawl. Well not much of a crawl, more like walk across the route 33. Please use the cross-walk, we have not had a death since 2002 when what his name threw that other guy under the bus.

Day 4: Slocum's

Bowling alley. Pierogi. Liquid Cheese. Good things do come in threes. (repeat this a few times -- it has haunting rhythm to it).

Slocum's is a top notch bowling establishment located in the Ewingville section. This was rumored to be a hangout for the TSNJ crowd but Pods may have been the only alumnus present. The regulars didn't seem to be the academic type, but Pods doesn't either, so I traded my preconceptions for a size 11 pair of bowling shoes.

This is a good fit. Our newfound habit of reaching out to bars not often (if ever) used by us is proving a huge success. I arrive to find Tamp, Mosso, and Cole sitting at the bar drinking the beer and awaiting the food. At the other side of the room, I see the G-family Robinson along with Felicia and Scugi. The separation is probably due to Mosso insulting someone. Whilst cheese steaks arrive for some; pierogi arrive for the Tamp, smothered in a yellow gooey cheese food like substance. Someone in eastern Europe is sobbing.

More folks arrive. More beer is drank. More food is ordered. Vodka is making a comeback as several choose this beverage, just like the Tsars would have, on the rocks, if they had refrigeration and a less repressive form of government. The most interesting drink of choice however, is not the Vodka, nor the one of the many draught beers available, but what I think is a beer (Bud Light?) in a 43 ounce aluminum being drank by C-Sel. Excellent work young lady.

Pods now eating Pierogi cheese overkill. The aforementioned sobbing Slav is about to jump from his loft in Gdansk. Alas Eman has gone traditional with sour cream and onions perhaps saving a life. Kudos to the Eman.

Topics of discussion were varied but of repeated interest was the sad state of the Giants and the Eagles defenses. Also, the guy across the bar who was looking at all of us like he wanted to kill us; The really bad talent show being shown on most of the televisions in lieu of the Niners-Cards game being relinquished to a small nine inch screen near the juke box which is muted during football games that you are not really allowed to watch so we can hear the god-awful talent show on effin main screens; Trent Eman's basketball game being played on a carpet (two steals for Trent); tee-shirts; lemons and limes; Tiger Woods; actual tigers; inappropriate touching of a certain person's bottom; and of course, point totals. Oddly, no bowling is discussed.

Oh, the Christmas lights. There was some holiday lights that were on the rafter, but not turned on. The Emans made this known, and Mosso and I attempted to trace the lights back to a plug, but we were unsuccessful. We found a switch but that just turned the parking lot lights out. The waitress said she would get these lights turned on, to which I replied that it really wasn't important. She would have none of it. It is as if they actually liked us being there. I will admit we were on fairly good behavior. But in the end, the lights never were turned on.

We carried on for sometime, and it was a great location, but without proper holiday lighting, eventually we all must go. Eman and I are last to leave. I suspect he got lost on the way home.
