Episode 9: “Can’t a brother get a wing around here” or “Time for a Fecking”

Left work and headed on down to Killarney’s Publick House in Hamilton. You know, taking the 95/295 loop is quicker than driving through Trenton. After parking, I noticed a group of cats and raccoons were milling over trash and assorted dead customers. That has nothing to do with anything, but how often do you see that?

The Emans, Scugi, Tamps, and Mosso were there still discussing the football comeback from Sunday. It’s a shame that either of those loser teams had to win the game. Go Pats! That subject was easily forgotten as the Beef-O-Brady’s Bowl was getting started. We ordered some beers and wings from our waitress, Sara. GMan showed up and discussions began about the proposed Christmas Eve race. No sooner had we said the word “run”, when the distinguished multi-sport athlete and TDDoC first-timer Sophia arrived. Anyway, it turns out that the Pennington circle is exactly 500 meters according to MapMyRun.com. That should be short enough so that most of us can get back to Wildflowers before the cops show up. GMan says his predicted time for the race is 1:20. No, wait. That’s for 400 meters. Can’t wait to see that. Meanwhile, Sara kept the beers and food coming.

John, the Mechanic, arrived and filled us in that he had been celebrating with the PA folks since earlier that afternoon. That may have contributed to his furniture malfunction later in the evening. 8:00 came and it seems that is the time when no underage folks can be admitted in to Killarney’s. Since Trent had been there since 5:30, he was grandfathered in. Sara said he was OK. After an unsuccessful request at Slocum’s the night before, Reese finally got her precious Singapore Sling. After taste tests by many around the table the consensus was that the drink smelled like candy, but tasted like a Singapore rest room floor. Reese realized that she wasn’t going to drink it and decided to leave it at the table while she slipped off to one of the other tables. The drink did manage to follow her around for the next two hours and she still refused to drink it. “Listen young lady, you’re not leaving this bar until you finish your drink”. Finally, the unwanted drink was carried away by Sara for a dignified burial out to sea.

Keep alert this holiday season. There were reports of an accident at the corner of Whitehorse-Mercerville and Klockner roads. Word has it that there was a Santa Claus with a Nazi arm band on the scene. Talk to Milot for more on that. Did I mention that Sara was our waitress?

See you tonight……..
