Day 8, Slocum's Bowl-O-Drome

I pull into Slocum's and the parking lot was packed! I never thought this place was so popular. After circling the lot I finally found a parking space in front, sandwiched in-between two dodgy looking cars (I see dents in my future). Leaving my car to fend on its own I start searching for the door. There was one in front, which looked more like the back door and another well lit one around the side. Picking the friendlier entrance, I walked into the bowling alley and immediately received a bunch of unfriendly stairs from local bowlers. Maybe the three inch heels were a bad choice tonight? I quickly sneak through the crowd and find the bar. Scugi, Ska, Gman, and Mosso were parked at the corner of the bar. I ordered a beer and immediately started complaining about the parking.

A few minutes later more TDDoCers started rolling in. Everyone starts asking why we weren’t bowling? Well besides the fact that is was league night and the bowling alley was mobbed, someone mentioned that TDDoCers just do not bowl!!! I’m guessing Gary is not a bowling fan? Soon everyone starts listing local bowling alleys and we soon realize that there may be enough bowling alleys for...dare I say it...the Twelve Bowling Days of Christmas?!

We have:
Slocum’s Bowl-O-Drome (Ewing)
Curtis Lanes (Ewing)
Colonial Lanes (Lawrenceville)
Hamilton Lanes (obvious)
Trenton Suburban Usbvwba (Google says it’s a bowling alley...but what the???)
B&D Sugar Bowl (Trenton?)
Brunswick Zone (NB)
Morrisville Lanes (very obvious)
Papp’s Bowling Center (Bordentown)
...you get the idea

What a great idea for next year! 2011 we are launching the TBDoC!! You have to show up and bowl one game to get a point. Points will also be awarded for stylish attire and keeping your mind in the gutter and your balls out!

Laura stopped in for a quick drink since this was her neck of the woods. She was questioning whether you could run into a bar, chug a beer and leave, and still be awarded a point? This is still under discussion. We might have to consult the secret committee. Reese was requesting another Singapore sling. Again the bartender seemed very confused. Someone tried googling the ingredients only to be left even more confused. Instead Reese had to settle for some of Slocum's bottom shelve liquor. Apparently they only serve bottom shelve liquor in Slocum's, and Eman has the receipt to prove it! Pods made an appearance and was drinking PBR's. Classic choice for this side of town. One choice you'll never find at Rats. Clean shaven Mertz stopped by for a drink. Apparently he was clean shaven on Friday but we were all too hung over from the week to notice.

Some TDDoC’ers, including myself, were still frustrating about the giants loss on Sunday. As a giants fan all I can say it what a #$%^ horrible game! I'm not even going to go into details, I'll start whining and we'll be here all day. What I will say is congrats to all you Eagles fans, your Superbowl wins are now officially tied with Crack Pipe Larry's appearances this year!

There was talk about Friday’s pub crawl. Reese was still fuming about the bartender from PSB&G. She was really regretting not jumping across the bar. In fact we figured out if I held her legs she might have been able to reach her card and we could have made a run for it. Then we would have had two bartenders attacking us in A&B at the end of the night instead of just the one from WG. That would have been ugly!

I have to say the best part of the night had to be the women’s bathroom. Slocum's shocked us all...well at least all the ladies. At a Bowl-O-Drome I never expected to see a bathroom so spotless. By far the nicest bathroom I have seen during the TDDoC! The first time I walked in it smelled like baby powder, later on Reese claimed it smelled like cotton candy. You probably could have eaten off the floor (well maybe that’s taking it a little too far). It never disappointed! I’m really sorry all the guys missed it.

Now on to Day #9....?
